THERE is just a few days left to register to vote in the European Parliamentary Elections.

Residents who want to vote in the elections on Thursday, May 22 have until Tuesday to register to vote.

Meanwhile, the deadline for residents to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wendesday, May 7 while those who wish to appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf must apply by 5pm on May 14.

Nominations for the European Parliamentary Elections have now closed and the Statement of Parties and Individual Candidates Nominated and Notice of Poll for the South West Region have been published by the Regional Returning Officer.

The location of polling stations in the Cotswold District for the elections has also been published by the District Council.

Nigel Adams, Local Returning Officer, said: “Registering to vote or applying for a proxy or postal vote is quick and easy.

"Residents can print off a form from aboutmyvote.co.uk or telephone 01285 623000.

"All forms need to be either hand delivered, faxed or sent by post to our Cirencester office before the deadline, as we require a signature on them.”
