ENERGETIC residents tied up their laces and limbered up for a Spring six-mile run or walk to raise funds for Shipston Homes Nursing.

Five teams and hundreds of walkers and runners took part in the event at Walton Hall, Wellesbourne, on Sunday , April 6 which organisers hope raised more than £1,500 in entry fees and sponsorship.

Estate agent Sheldon Bosley sponsored the event and provided a cup for the winning team, CAD Kineton.

The boy’s race was won by Sam Weaving and Rosie Whittaker won the girls race while Ryan Grummet won the adult, male race and Kate Allen won the adult female race.

Debbie Foster, Assistant Fundraiser, said: "Thank you to Andrew Hamilton for the opportunity to provide such a stunning route for the walk and to Walton Hall for their hospitality and hot dogs at the finish line.

"Also to Mid-Counties Co-op and The Co-operative Food stores in Shipston and Warners Budgens, Moreton for donating much needed energy food.

"Look out for next year’s date and perhaps you might like to enter a team and win the cup."
