Last chance to respond to council ward boundaries consultation

Cotswold Journal: (5537606) (5537606)

TIME is running out for people to have their say on proposals for new council ward boundaries across the Cotswold district.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published draft recommendations proposing that Cotswold District Council should have 34 councillors in the future, ten fewer than the current arrangements.

This means those councillors would represent 32 single-member and one two-member ward across the district.

Max Caller, Chair of the Commission, said: “We are keen to hear local views about our boundary proposals before we finalise them in July.

“We want to make sure ward boundaries across Cotswold reflect the identities and interests of local communities as well as delivering electoral fairness for voters."

The deadline for responses is Monday, April 28. For details visit consultation.lgbce.org.uk.

People can respond by writing to The Review Officer (Cotswold), Local Government Boundary Commission for England, Layden House ,76-86 Turnmill Street, London EC1M 5LG or email
