CRIME has fallen in Stow but burglary has risen, according to the latest police report.

Overall crime has fallen by two crimes, or 8.77 per cent, between January to March compared with the same period last year.

There were 21 crimes in the first two months of this year, with seven being detected, and there has been a noticeable drop in violence and criminal damage.

Reading out the police report at last Thursday's town council meeting, clerk Robin Dix said: "Police are concerned about the rise in the amount of burglaries and theft reported.

"Everyone is urged to protect their properties and report any suspicious activities to the police."
