CASES of syphilis in Worcestershire have more than doubled in the past year.
But the overall number of cases remains small, with only 13 recorded in the past 12 months.
Anyone who has unprotected sex – especially oral sex – is at risk of the disease and other sexually transmitted infections.
Left untreated it can cause permanent damage to the eyes, heart and brain.
