A MICKLETON woman who has just celebrated her 103rd birthday said her large family is what keeps her going.

Nora Hardiman, who lives in Four Seasons Residential Home, celebrated the milestone on Wednesday, April 2 with her family and friends around her.

She enjoyed coffee at The Three Ways House Hotel for the morning followed by lunch and then yet another celebration back at the care home later in the day and has received 50 cards.

Mrs Hardiman, who moved to the village in 1973 from Birmingham with her late husband, Joe, has got a busy time ahead of her seeing her two children, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who are visiting her over the next couple of weeks from their homes around the country.

Her son-in-law Eric Jones, of Evesham, said she "absolutely loved" her birthday celebrations and her family was the secret to her longevity.

"She absolutely dotes on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren," he said. "She loves going through photograph books. We've made her three photobooks, she just loves thumbing through them.

"With plenty of photographs and family memorabilia to ponder over, she still finds her greatest pleasure in having her family around her."
