MORTON Town Council is holding an extraordinary planning meeting to discuss plans for 140 homes in the town.

CALA Homes has now submitted outline plans for the development which includes a new public park and associated infrastructure across two sites on land off Todenham Road and Dulverton Place.

The developer, which has already developed two sites in the town including Moreton park, is proposing to build two, three, four and five-bedroom properties along with affordable housing.

Plans by the same developer for 300 homes in Todenham Road were thrown out by a planning inspector in April 2011.

The town council is holding a meeting on Monday at 7pm in the Redesdale Hall to decide how it will respond to the plans and members of the public are welcome to go along and make comments.
