STRATFORD District Council has received a "substantial" response to the latest round of consultation on its Core Strategy.

The council has received more than 3,000 responses to the consulation which closed on Friday, March 14.

All comments will now be analysed and a report will be prepared for consideration by the district council at a later date.

The vast majority of responses focus on the options previously promoted to the District Council and set out in the consultation itself including Lighthorne Health/Gaydon, Long Marston Airfield and Southam.

But a limited number of respondents have taken the opportunity to promote alternative sites.

Councillor Chris Saint, Leader of Stratford District Council, said: “We are aware of new sites that have come forward as part of this consultation process that will be considered by the Planning Policy team. However in the meantime we will push ahead with our published timetable.”
