A WORCESTER hospital boss is to remain in her post for another two years.

Lynne Todd has served as a non-executive director of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust since January 2011 and this week was re-appointed to the post until the end of March 2016.

Mrs Todd was formerly a non-executive director at Birmingham Children's Hospital and today sits as a magistrate in Redditch as well as a director of a market research agency.

She said she was delighted to be continuing in the role, which includes special responsibility for championing the care of children across the trust.

"The next couple of years are going to be very exciting, with some huge steps forward in hospital care for the people of Worcestershire including the opening of a new radiotherapy centre at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and the launch of a fundraising campaign for a £1.6m surgical robot for the Alexandra Hospital," she said.

"I am looking forward to playing a part in these.”

The trust's chairman Harry Turner welcomed the re-appointment.

“Over the past three years Lynne has brought invaluable experience and insight to the board," he said. "My board colleagues and I are delighted that she has been reappointed and we are looking forward to continuing working with her for the next two years.”

Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by the NHS Trust Development Authority are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
