A COTSWOLD mother-of-two who runs a baby signing business has been nominated for a What's On 4 2014 Junior Awards.

Emi Darnton, in Stretton-on-Fosse, near Moreton, who runs Little Signers, is a nominee in the Most Outstanding Activity Leader for the Under 5s ā€“ south category.

The 35-year-old, who has been nominated for the awards three times, set up her business in 2010 and runs classes around the North Cotswolds.

Now in its eighth year, the awards celebrate the best activities, classes, people and places throughout the country which are nominated and voted for by parents and carers.

Ms Darnton, who offers baby signing classes and Early Years training packages so that sign language can be used at home between parents and babies and in day care settings by practitioners, said she was delighted to be nominated.

"I am thrilled to have got this far," she said. "It's a great accolade but there's a lot of competition.

"It is so important to me that what I do is valued. To be recognised as an outstanding activity leader really shows me that Iā€™m doing something right."

The winners will be announced at the live award ceremony on Friday, June 20.
