THE Great Western Air Ambulance which covers Gloucestershire enjoyed a special delivery from Western Power Distribution (WPD) Helicopter Unit.

A crew took a short break recently from line patrols to present a cheque for £2,000 to the unit which is based at Filton in Bristol.

Toby Heiermann WPD’s Pilot said: “What a great reason to take a short break from our flying duties. The Air Ambulance provides a great service so I am delighted to present the Unit with this cheque and hope our support will encourage others to give what they can too.”

Tianna Cowan, Corporate Fundraising Officer for GWAA, added: “It’s fantastic that WPD have decided to support our cause by providing us with a £2,000 donation and we were thrilled to welcome them at our air base.

“Donations received from the business community go a long way to helping us raise the £1.75 million needed to keep us flying”.
