EXPERIENCE parents or people who have worked with disabled children are being encouraged to consider adopting a child with additional needs.
There are currently six children in Gloucestershire waiting for new families who fall into this category.
The adoption process has had a radical overhaul in recent months to make it more efficient and it now takes just six months to be approved as an adopter.
And for second time adopters or foster carers, the process now takes three months.
To find out more about adoption call Gloucestershire County Council’s Adoption Team on 01452 427753, or visit gloucestershire.gov.uk/adoption.
