THE transformation of a disused, historic pub into seven new homes in Moreton has now been completed - and most of them have already sold.

Old Wellington Court - the former Grade II listed Wellington Inn, has now been transformed into one, two and three-bedroom luxury apartments and cottages.

It is the debut scheme for Stratford-based Dobson-Grey in a joint project with Charterhouse Properties.

The festive launch of the development just before Christmas, secured two sales and by the end of December, three more were sold.

Keri Dobson, Managing Director of Dobson-Grey, said: “I have been truly overwhelmed by the success of the sales and can only commend everyone who has been involved with the project, particularly the contractor, Avonvale Construction.

"It truly has been a team effort. Obviously central to the objective to breath new life into the old Coaching Inn was to develop new homes for people to cherish and for Moreton to be proud of.

"This has been a labour of love for my father and I and we definitely want to find another, it would be a pity not to with such a great team to work with."

The pub which closed in 2010 was thought to take its name from the Wellington bombers which used the nearby airfield.

However it could have originally been named after the Wellington Road which passed the front door, according to locals.
