A MAN who allegedly told a 13-year-old girl to “wear something sexy” before they met has been convicted of meeting a child following sexual grooming.
Luke Southam, of Cornish Road in Chipping Norton, was found guilty by a jury at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday after just one hour and 19 minutes.
The 21-year-old denied meeting the girl – who cannot be named for legal reasons – following sexual grooming on March 11 last year, during which it is alleged he kissed her on the lips.
But the jury found him guilty following a three-day trial and the case has now been adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.
Judge Tom Corrie told the defendant that probation would consider “all options” including custody, ahead of his sentencing hearing on March 28.
