FIREFIGHTERS were a hot topic at a nursery near Shipston as youngsters started a project about 'people who help us’.

A crew from Shipston Fire Station called intoWinchcombe Farm Day Nursery, in Upper Tysoe, to tell the children about what they do to help them and give them chance to see and climb aboard a fire engine.

Nursery manager Rachel Giorgio said: “The children were thrilled to have the opportunity to climb aboard the fire engine and try out the lights and sirens.

"They also had the opportunity to try on the firemen’s’ helmets and uniforms, while talking to them about what they do to help people.

“This is part of a month-long project we are doing about people who help us. We have lots of other exciting visits planned over the next few weeks from a paramedic, a vet, a police community support officer and Guide Dogs for the Blind”.
