A CHARITY researching treatments for brain cancer is encouraging people in Worcestershire to take on a fundraising rowing challenge.

The Row For It campaign run by The Brain Tumour Charity will see participants rowing between five and 21 kilometres on water or static machines and it is hoped everyone who takes part will be able to raise at least £100.

Community fundraiser Jen Boilestad said taking on the challenge in May was a good way to keep a new year’s resolution to keep fit on track.

“A lot of people go in to the New Year with the aim of staying healthy but without a goal to work towards, their motivation soon disappears,” she said. “By taking part in the ‘Row For It’ challenge, participants will have the drive to keep training and will be able to donate to a fantastic cause at the same time.

“It’s also great because unlike the majority of charity events, it offers an alternative to running and can be completed on the water, in the gym or even at home if you have the equipment.”
