WITH low temperatures and heavy rain causing risk of ice on the roads, gritters will be out and about in Worcestershire from 7pm tonight.

Drivers are being warned any surface water could freeze into black ice overnight and are advised to take precautions.

Motorists should ensure a safe distance is maintained between vehicles and not assume roads have been gritted.

Residents are also being encouraged to check on elderly residents and other vulnerable members of the community.
