THE managing director of a Cotswold clothing company has been named one of Draper magazine's 30 under 30 rising stars.

Jade Holland Cooper, of Chipping Norton, who founded Holland Cooper Clothing five years ago, has been recognised in the annual awards which highlight Britain’s most exciting talent within the fashion industry.

Dubbed one of the trendiest young fashion designers, the 27-year-old started the business at just 21 after turning down unconditional offers at LCF and Central St Martins, opting instead for the Royal Agricultural College where the idea for Holland Cooper was born.

“This is a very proud industry moment for me," she said, "Recognition from Drapers magazine is something you aim for when starting a fashion business, and to have achieved that at 27 is a real reward for all the hard work.”

The company has an office and showroom in Cornbury Park, Charlbury, and offers a private appointment service for bespoke garments and a luxury shopping experience.

It also has accounts with luxury high-end stores including Harrods.

Greg Tufnell, business advisor for Holland Cooper and former Managing Director of Burton, Mothercare and Boxfresh, said the nomination was not a surprise to him.

“A typical week would involve Jade loading her van with stock for a show, setting up the pop-up, staffing the show and [blogging]," he said. "Then it would be phone calls to suppliers and customers followed by marking out and cutting fabrics ready for manufacture”

She is a credit to her business and to her brand.
