MUSICIANS from the Central Band of the Royal Air Force raised the roof during a special charity concert in Bourton.

Hosted by the North Cotswolds Rotary Club, the concert took place at the Cotswold School and raised £3,700.

Half the money is being donated to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, with the other half going to Kate's Home Nursing, in Stow, and other local charities.

Colonel Mike Bennett OBE, deputy to the Lord Lieutenant, attended the concert as a guest of Rotary in place of Dame Janet Trotter, Gloucestershire’s Lord Lieutenant, who was recovering from car accident.

Club president Phil Randall said: “The Rotary charity band concert has become a firm favourite with the people of Bourton and the north Cotswolds and the audience were treated to a feast of fine music.”

He thanked the sponsors and all those who came and said he hoped the band would return again next year.
