GLOUCESTERSHIRE Music is on the look-out for young singers and musicians to represent the county.

There are seven different music groups for young musicians, representing the top singers and players in the county.

Auditions will be held for young singers, currently in year 8 to 13, or instrumentalists with a minimum grade five on Monday, February 17 and Tuesday February 18.

Steve Legge, assistant head of Gloucestershire Music, said: “Gloucestershire can be very proud of the quality and range of youth music making it has in the county.

"Our groups have won many national awards and have perfomed in iconic venues like the Royal Albert Hall. Most important, however, is the taking part.

"We want to show the UK just what a rich and varied musical scene we have in the county, so we encourage local young musicians to sign up and become part of our county music groups.”
