WOMEN across the Cotswolds are being urged to join forces to fight cancer in this year's Race for Life.
Cancer Research UK has now opened entries for Race for Life 2014 which is taking place at venues across Gloucestershire.
Events are taking place at the Cheltenham Racecourse on Sunday, June 29 at 11am and Cirencester Park on Sunday, July 20 at 11am.
Last year, 3,778 women took part in the Cheltenham event and raised £226,496 while 1,340 women took part in Cirencester and raised £76,321.
Women of all ages, shapes and sizes can sign up for a 5km race or for a 10km event for those wanting to set themselves more of a challenge.
Kelly Rumble, Cancer Research UK’s South West Events Manager, said: “We’re calling on South West’s mighty-mums, gutsy-grans, feisty friends and go-getting girls to join our formidable army and take on cancer at this year’s Race for Life.
“Race for Life is an amazing way to celebrate life but also remember those who have been lost to the disease. There are over 200 cancers and we won’t give up until we find cures for them all.”
