A MAN is calling upon the musical community of Moreton to help him play the piano for his elderly mother.
Norma Gibson is paying a visit to his 97-year-old mother, Queenie Hurst, who recently moved to the town from Cornwall to live with his sister, next month.
Mr Gibson, 74, who has not seen his mother since October 2009, is flying over from Sydney, Australia, on February 21 for 10 days and hopes to be able to play the piano for her as she had not heard him tinkle the ivories for many years.
She is currently recovering at home after suffering a nasty fall just three days before she was due to move to Moreton.
Mr Gibson said he hoped he could play for her as arrangements for him to play on his last visit fell through.
"I would love to be able to play the piano for her when I visit, she has not heard me play for many years," he said. " I am hoping that it will give her some pleasure as she was the person who encouraged me to play when I was about two years old.
"It is many years since she heard me and she will I hope, notice some improvement."
If anyone has a piano in Moreton Mr Gibson could use, email nandlgibson@gmail.com.
