CHIPPING Campden-based Robert Welch Designs has won a prestigious international award for two of its products.

The company, in Lower High Street, was awarded Good Design 2013 awards by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design for its signature professional knife block and ‘Molten’ cutlery.

Alice Welch, managing director of Robert Welch Designs, said it was a tremendous honour to have been recognised.

“It recognizes innovative product design and originality throughout the world,” she said.

“Competition for these awards is always very tough and designers from 48 nations competed for the 2013 awards. For over 50 years, Robert Welch Designs has been synonymous with award-winning design and the manufacture of quality products and this award emphasises our ongoing commitment to this in everything that we do.”

Robert Welch Designs has won in previous years for its salt and pepper mills, kitchen utensils and cutlery.
