PLANS to increase the number of homes in an Evesham housing development by three have been approved by councillors.
At a meeting of Wychavon District Council’s planning committee on Thursday, January 9, nine councillors voted to give the extra houses the go-ahead.
The decision means there will be 59 units on the land at Avon Nurseries, Bewdley Street, Evesham.
The proposals also see a change to the house types on a number of plots in the development.
Councillor Jo Sandalls said she supported the plans but also issued a warning to developer Bovis Homes.
“This has been a difficult site and I was concerned about the three additional units, however after long discussions with the officers and the developer we have achieved the best deal we can get,” said Coun Sandalls.
“I would request a message is sent to Bovis Homes. A lot of serious thought goes into conditions and they are not to be ignored.”
It was also agreed that further enforcement action could be taken if needed.
