A ROAD in Winchcombe will be closed during part of January while resurfacing work is carried out.

The complete length of Chandos Street is being repaired and will be closed between 7.30am and 5pm from Wednesday until Tuesday, January 14.

The road will be fully open outside of these dates and times so people can go about their normal business freely.

Work has been divided into two separate projects so drivers will be able to use the car park whilst the work is being carried out.

Councillor Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood, said: “This is important resurfacing work to significantly improve a well-used road for local residents and businesses.

“It will take time to complete the resurfacing scheme and it will mean roadworks. We’re already extremely grateful for the patience residents have shown us and are hopeful that the benefits will far outweigh the inconvenience caused.”

Due to the nature of the work being carried out, and the machinery to be used, residents will have restricted vehicle access to their property should speak to people on site if they require assistance.

Bin collections will continue as normal throughout the work and bins need to be in place by 7am on the day of collection.
