WINTRY windows in Pershore have been rewarded for being fantastically festive in the town’s annual Christmas competition.
The contest was judged by the Chairman of Wychavon District Council, councillor Gerry O’Donnell, his consort Jenny O’Donnell, and town councillor Val Wood on Saturday.
Jolie, a womenswear shop, was given the top prize for its display, a winter wonderland created by business partner Judy Lianos.
She said: “I think having the impact of the top and bottom window helps.
“I kept the display this year really simple – it’s snowy with white parcels.
People do comment on the windows. I used to be a window dresser but I haven’t done it professionally for 20 years.
“We feel quite honoured that they have given it to us. It was a lovely surprise.”
The silver awards were given to Acorns, High Street, and the Thai Legend restaurant, also High Street.
Classic Cuts, in Broad Street, and Three Little Pigs, High Street, were given bronze awards and Angels, High Street, and Sarah Jaynes Tea Shop, High Street, were highly commended.
