EVESHAM’S traders are doing their best to remain positive during the Abbey Bridge closure despite the news that it may be out of action until March.
Businesses already struggling due to the delays in the project will have dreaded hearing the news that the closure period is expected to stretch into the first few months of 2014.
Amid the doom and gloom, there are many putting on a brave face and working hard to ensure their businesses have a bright future when the bridge re-opens.
The Journal is also doing its bit to provide much-needed support for those who really need it by providing free advertising to town businesses in special ‘wrap-around’ sections running over four weeks supported by Evesham Market Town Partnership, Wychavon District Council, Worcestershire County Council and bridge contractors Hochtief.
We also aim to introduce you to the people behind the businesses in our weekly Meet Your Local Trader feature which runs alongside an events column and information to highlight reasons to be cheerful and why people should visit Evesham in our continuing Come in We’re Open campaign.
