Gloucester Airport could get a lift in passenger numbers tollowing the loss of a number of routes between Britain and the isle of Man.

Flybe have withdrawn flights to the island from Bristol, Luton and Southampton, but now Citywing have stepped in to offer flights from Gloucester to disappointed passengers at £1 less than the cost of the original booking.

Citywing Managing Director, David Buck, said: "Protecting access to and from the Isle of Man is crucial to the economy in these difficult times, especially with increasing numbers of air routes being reduced or withdrawn. We want to ensure that no one has to cancel their plans. For those travelling to the Isle of Man from Gloucester Airport, they offer the convenience of 20 minutes check-in time and free parking. With our offer to re-book passengers onto one of our direct flights for £1 less than their original fare, we hope to save visitors time and money and get every trip to the Isle of Man off to a great start."
