SHIPSTON has been given a funding boost after it was awarded a £4,000 grant from Warwickshire County Council.

The cash was part of the initiative Operation Footfall, a £400,000 pot of funding made available by the county council under its Going for Growth programme aimed at building a stronger local economy.

It is hoped under the initiative, it will encourage greater numbers of people into Warwickshire’s town centres.

Mayor Ronnie Murphy said they had been given the amount they had asked for.

“We can go forward with advertising the town,” she said.

“We want to make the website completely separate from the town website so we can have advertising on it.”
