A FESTIVE forest of 42 imaginatively decorated Christmas trees have taken root in the nave of a church in Stow.

The third Christmas Tree Festival opens today, Thursday, in St Edward’s Church and runs until Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

People can vote for their favourite trees in three categories, decorated by local schools, organisations and businesses.

Youngsters from Stow Primary School will be performing a free concert today at 2pm.

Writer, broadcaster and entertainer Pam Ayres will also be there on Saturday to pick her favourite.

All the trees have been donated by Fosseway Garden Centre in Moreton.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Tree festival in St James’ Church, Chipping Campden, got underway on Tuesday.

Taking place daily between 10am and 5pm, the festival runs until Saturday with the winner being voted for by the public.
