POLICE have reissued a CCTV image of a man they want to trace in connection with an assault that left a student with a fractured skull.

The attack took place in the early hours of Friday, October 4 when 18-year-old James Dallimore was approached by another man and punched in the face after leaving popular nightspot Sin, in New Street, Worcester.

Mr Dallimore, who was only two weeks into his time at the University of Worcester, fell backwards and hit his head on the road before trying to get up, causing him to fall forwards.

This resulted in multiple head injuries, including a fractured skull and a fractured eye socket.

Detective Constable Craig Osborne from Worcester CID said: “We had previously issued a picture of someone we wanted to speak to in connection with the incident and a man was arrested shortly after that appeal on suspicion of assault.

“However, he has since been eliminated from our inquiries with no further action being taken against him and that is why we are redistributing the original appeal.

“We are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as we believe he may be able to help us with our inquiries into the assault on the student and I would urge him, or anyone who recognises the man, to call us.”

Following the incident, the teenager was taken to hospital and faced an operation to tackle the severe headaches he has suffered from since the attack.

Anyone with information should call Det Con Osborne on the non-emergency number 101.
