THE November 2013 meeting, the AGM, began with the introduction by president Val Davies of Sue White, a Worcestershire Federation advisor who had travelled to the meeting to supervise the conduct of the AGM and to inspire us for another busy year of WI activities.

One of our members, Marlene Addy, whose son lives in Manila, gave a brief account of the impact of Typhoon Haiyan on the Philippines, and members gave generously to a collection towards the relief appeal.

The AGM proper began with an address by Sue White who was keen to encourage members to register for WI Moodle, an online learning system which is available to all members and which provides a wealth of educational services.

The 2014 Littletons WI committee was then reelected en bloc, the only change being the retirement from the committee of Carole Duce, to be replaced by relatively new member Jan Partridge. Jan is a very enthusiastic WI member and we wish her well.

There was then a vote for the office of president between Val Davies and Frances Stretton, and Val Davies was elected to serve for a third year.

Assistant treasurer Daisy Witts presented the treasurer’s report which showed healthy funds. The report was adopted.

Annual report, a review of the many 2013 activities of Littletons WI, was given by secretary Margaret Dalton and was also adopted by members.

The AGM closed with president Val thanking all those members who had worked to support the club throughout 2013.

Competition members were asked to submit a favourite recipe which would be entered on the Littletons WI website littletonswi.

moonfruit.com and we would encourage anyone interested in finding out more about our activities to look at it.

The next meeting is the Christmas party on Tuesday.

December 10, 6pm for 6.30pm at Littletons Village Hall.

The competition will be a homemade party hat, to be worn on the evening. A pantomime performed by members will follow the supper.
