8:00am Friday 1st November 2013 in News
CHILDREN at a Vale school have been enjoying the weird and wonderful world of science experiments.
The youngsters at Harvington First School celebrated science week and tried their hand at a number of different activities.
Becky Enstone, Year 5 teacher, said: “We have been working with years 3, 4 and 5 and completing activities. We had visitors from the Thinktank museum in Birmingham and they did work with the children.
“We have mixed them up year group wise so they all work with different children.
They have been making ice cream volcanos and learning about heat insulation. One of the other activities was making ice hands and they had to try to stop the ice hands from melting by wrapping them in different materials.
“They have had a great time working with the other children from different classes and planning the experiments.”
There will be a chance to visit the school at its open morning on Tuesday, November 19, from 9.30am until 11am.
