New chapter for Moreton wholesale business Confex
IT is the start of a new chapter for a wholesale trading group, which has moved to bigger premises in Moreton.
Confex, which works with 300 independent wholesalers around the country and negiotiates prices and promotions on their behalf, has moved to the Cotswold Business Village, London Road.
The company has been based at Chipping Norton for the last 15 years but needed more space after an expansion in its workforce.
Councillor Colin Hancox, chairman of Moreton Town Council, officially opened the new premises.
James Loffet, director (Logistics & Distribution) of Confex Ltd, said: “Within the last six years our Central Distribution operation has grown from one employee to six, but we were still trying to fit us all into the same single office.
“So it is just glorious to be here with so much space, light bright modern offices, plenty of storage and all the room we need for future expansion.”
Confex was set up in 1972 in Wolverhampton and employed a single secretary.
Now there are 17 full-time employees at its headquarters with many more employed by its Logistics partners in Pershore.
In 2007, the firm created Confex CD - Central Distribution - and began supplying its members with goods from its own official suppliers through the warehouse.
