Car ends up in hedge
12:00pm Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
A DRIVER had a lucky escape after their car left the road and ended up in the hedge on a sharp bend near Winchcombe.
A blue Honda Jazz was seen in the hedgerow on the B4077 Stanway Hill, Stanway, near Broadway, and attracted the attention of passing drivers including Jan Long, of Bromsberrow Heath, near Ledbury, who stopped to help as she was travelling back from Shipston.
“It’s a very dangerous road, full of bends,” she said. “My first thought was, what if someone’s hurt? “I returned to the layby to enlist the help of the lorry driver who had stopped for a break.
“The exhaust pipe was cold and he could see that there wasn’t anyone in the vehicle, so whoever the driver was, must have been OK to climb out of the car passenger door.
“Another car pulled up and a man joined us. He alerted the police.”
The driver, a woman from Redditch, was treated at the scene by paramedics last Wednesday morning for a minor wrist injury before arranging for her car to be recovered.
