Nursery turns blue for charity
A NURSERY near Shipston was awash with blue as children and staff donned denim for the day for charity.
Youngsters at Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery, in Upper Tysoe, raised nearly £45 for Jeans for Genes Day last Friday, an annual fundraiser for children with genetic disorders.
They also baked and decorated demin-clad gingerbread men to give to their parents.
Charity events will continue this week as the nursery holds a MacMillan Coffee Morning in their tree house classroom on Thursday.
Rachel Giorgio, Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery’s manager, said: “Having a coffee morning is a great excuse to get together and raise funds for such a worthy cause.
“We hope as many people as possible will be able to drop in and join us for coffee and home-baked cake to show their support for Macmillan and help them to help people affected by cancer.
“There are lots of fun activities planned for the children during these sessions, including messy crafts and outdoor activities.”
