Auditions tomorrow for Number 8 spectacular

12:29pm Friday 20th September 2013

A DANCE academy is bringing its wealth of performance experience to the area for the first time and is urging youngsters to step forward and audition.

The Regional Youth Ballet is looking for boys and girls aged eight to 18 to attend the session, at the Number 8 Community Arts Centre, Pershore, tomorrow, to try and secure a role in Les Sylphides.

Juniors aged eight to 11 will be tested from 1.30pm and seniors aged 12 to 18 from 3.30pm, with a £10 audition fee payable.

Angela Evington, director of Regional Youth Ballet, said: “We are looking forward to coming to Pershore.

“Les Sylphides is a beautiful ballet to perform in and we have a lot of beautiful dances in the second half with pieces from Giselle, Swan Lake, the Nutcracker and many others, but first we need to choose our cast members from all the local ballet dancers.

“I love to see the enthusiasm of the students, working hard and producing an amazing piece of theatre at the end of a period of intense rehearsing.

“I am looking for a range of ages and standards to attend the audition, and we need boys too.”

The performance will take place in the venue on Friday and Saturday, November 15 and 16.
