Zombies invade a quiet Cotswold market town
ZOMBIES invading a Cotswold market town is the topic for a new series created by two budding Spielbergs.
Friends Ben Friedli, aged 14, of Moreton, and Finbar Somers, 16, who lives near Alcester, chose Ben’s home town as the setting of their film Moreton-In-Fected which sees zombies trying to take over the picturesque location.
The pair, who began filming 10 episodes in July, say they have always been interested in making their own productions but wanted to go to the next level.
They decided to turn to indiegogo – a website which gives wannabe film makers a certain amount of time to raise money through its pages. Ben said: “We have been making movies for a while and decided we wanted to make something quite big.
“After watching Shaun of the Dead we decided we wanted to do a zombie movie.
We have now filmed episodes one to three.” The first episode sees two teenagers witnessing the beginning of the zombie take-over.
Ultimately, the series will follow six teenagers as they battle the invasion. It was hard to film,” said Ben. “It took a day and a quarter to make episode one. We used gelatin on the faces of the zombies and it was melting on to the roads.
“The same lad has been in all three episodes so far and we have had to make him up differently.”
To complete the series the friends need to raise £1,024.
“It is hard for us to raise money,” added Ben. “So far we have raised £288.”
The boys have until Monday to raise the money. To help them out visit http://bit.ly/16UM5AU.
