Public consultation on future housing allocation starts
PEOPLE are being asked their views on how future affordable housing should be allocated.
Cotswold District Council (CDC) has launched a public consultation to determine its priorities for the allocation of rented and low cost home ownership housing and how it should be allocated.
Councillor Sue Jepson, CDC cabinet member for housing strategy and allocations, said: “The council wants to ensure that meeting the housing needs and aspirations of residents will link more closely to current and future availability of affordable housing.
“We have produced a draft Housing Allocation Scheme for public consultation, which identifies key areas where the council has new powers or there are legislative changes on issues including eligibility, employment status and local connection.
“We would like to hear local residents’ views on this draft scheme and any suggestions anyone may have to improve it.”
The document is available to download and also contains an online response form.
It is also available to read at the council offices in Cirencester and Moreton during their normal opening hours.
Residents can go along to a public drop-in event to discuss the draft scheme on Wednesday,September 11 in the Moreton Area Centre, High Street, from 2pm to 7pm.
The deadline for responses is 5pm on Friday, October 4.
