THREE friends are taking the first steps towards a trip they are hoping will change their lives.

The pupils, who attend Chipping Campden High School – Aimee Bonner, Megan Ledbetter and Jordan Nailor, all aged 15 – are heading out to Tanzania next year but their fund-raising efforts to enable the trip to take place begin tomorrow (Friday).

They are hosting a bingo night, which they hope will get them some way towards the £3,695 they each have to raise to take part in the trip next July.

Megan, of Redesdale Place, Moreton, said: “Last year my friend’s sister went on the trip to India and she told us how amazing and life-changing it was.

“After an assembly on the trip to Tanzania it changed by opinion on my life and how I see everyday life.”

The three friends will travel with a group of about 40 from the school and take part in various community activities while in Africa.

“My main aim is to work with the children,” said Megan. “I think it will be life-changing for me as well.”

The bingo night and raffle is being held at Redesdale Hall, Moreton, at 6.30pm tomorrow.
