THE world of music and food will come together for a second year in a Cotswold melting pot.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and Blur bassist turned cheesemaker Alex James host the Big Feastival on Alex’s Kingham farm and tickets for the tasty festival go on sale today from 10am.

Household musical names including Basement Jaxx, Rizzle Kicks, KT Tunstall and The Feeling give a flavour of what will be on offer, with the roster of acts boasting awards, chart-topping singles and albums between them.

The pair are looking forward to dishing up a bigger and better serving this year.

Alex said: “I’m very excited to have such great foodies and musicians back on the farm. The whole weekend was so enjoyable last year and Jamie and I are working to make it even better for 2013.”

Jamie added: “Last year the atmosphere was incredible and it really was fun for all ages. Tickets sold out so I’d recommend buying them early – don’t miss out.”

In the Electrolux Big Kitchen, Jamie’s mentor and Italian legend Gennaro Contaldo, culinary maestro Bruno Loubet, top British chefs Valentine Warner and Mark Sargeant and Supper Club sensation Sabrina Ghayour will cook up a storm alongside the man himself.

All manner of culinary delights can be found down Street Food Alley, featuring a menu of dishes featuring the best of the British street food scene, with everything from Asian steamed buns to mouthwatering meatballs.

In a new feature, television personality and farmer Adam Henson is bringing furry and feathered friends from his Cotswold Farm Park to the Little Dudes Den, where an action-packed family programme of activities can be found.

There will also be a range of hands-on foodie features and an award-winning selection of artisan producers and boutique brands.

This year’s event runs on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.
