HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Stella Price, who has just celebrated her 100th birthday, with her daughter Margaret Westaway, left, son Ron Price, right, Thursday Club treasurer Don Tinson and Dot Bullock.
A VILLAGE social club helped one of its longest serving members celebrate clocking up her century. Upton Snodsbury Thursday Club held a party at the Oak pub to mark the 100th birthday of Stella Price, who has been part of the club for more than 30 years. Her birthday was on Friday and the celebrations continued in the village hall on Saturday, when more than 100 people gathered for four hours of festivities. Club treasurer Don Tinson said: “It went really well and she really enjoyed herself. I think she was feeling a bit tired at the end but she said she had a good time.” The club meets weekly, offering people the chance to play bingo, have a chat and drink tea or coffee.
