A formidable performance
A TEAM of pupils from Shipston High School have made it through the heats of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition.
Three year nine pupils won the intermediate competition with their speech on The Apocolypse Now is Overpopulation.
They beat stiff competition from other students including a team from King Edward VI School in Stratford.
Team members Tristan Hoff, Ben Bryan and Gilbert Blocksidge were praised by the judges for the way they worked together to “make a very highly polished, amusing and eloquent presentation”
of their topic.
Headteacher Jonathan Baker said: “Each of our team members really rose to the occasion and together they presented a formidable performance.
They are further proof of the extremely strong tradition of public speaking in the school.”
The winners will now take part in the district final later this year.
