Early spring cheer at Batsford Early spring cheer at Batsford

THE first signs of spring are starting to appear at Batsford Arboretum with visitors flocking to enjoy snowdrop week.

This week is when the flowers are at their best with patches springing up across the 55-acre site.

Visitors can also look out for winter aconites and cyclamen along with early daffodils which are starting to come into flower.

Head gardener Matt Hall said the snowdrops would be out for the next two weeks. “Now the weather is getting a bit better it’s warming up, snowdrops are out,” he said. “They are going to be at their best. They’ve spread all the way around the garden with large patches en masse. It just brings a nice bit of early spring cheer.”
