Plymouth Brethren raise cash for Stow firefighters
MEMBERS of the Stow congregation of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church have raised cash for the town’s fire station.
A sponsored walk was generously supported by businesses and the local community and £1,693 was raised for the Stow Fire Station.
The sponsored six-mile walk from Bourton to Stow via the Slaughters including all age groups.
A spokesman for the church said: “We were very pleased by the many donations received. It is quite clear that the service provided by the brave personnel from Stow Fire Station is very much appreciated by the locals here and this was a great opportunity to voice all of our thanks.
“They do an excellent job and we can all feel safer in the knowledge of this.”

The Exclusive Brethren sect claim to have changed, that they are now the nice cuddly Plymouth Brethren Christian Church who give out cups of tea & sandwiches to hard-working Firemen.
They say that the many stories of family breakup, sexual abuse and abuse of law are a thing of the past. That this most reclusive of cults has been helped to see a new way forward - or as their world-wide leader would put it "The Lord has turned a corner"
We have been following the harrowing story of Marion Evans, a UK citizen and former member of the Exclusive Brethren and it may make you wonder what exactly has changed. This is a story that is unfolding today - its hardly a historical event!
