Youth shelter is ‘unimaginative’

THE design of a new youth shelter proved to be a bone of contention at Shipston Town Council last week.
Members were unhappy with the “unimaginative” design of the proposed shelter which would be located near the skate park and covered by CCTV from the leisure centre.
Councillor Ian Cooper was first to register his disapproval and other members agreed, arguing that young people in Shipston deserved something better.
The town council has agreed to spend up to £5,000 on the shelter but will discuss the matter again at a future meeting where a different design will be put forward for approval.
