Fancy looking after chickens?

Fancy looking after chickens? Fancy looking after chickens?

VOLUNTEERS are wanted to look after chickens in Shipston.

Transition Shipston members are planning to house the chickens in the community garden off Darlingscote Road and any interested residents can join the rota to look after them and enjoy fresh eggs as a reward.

It is hoped the chickens will arrive in the next couple of weeks.

Philip Vial, Transition Shipston member, said: “Transition Shipston likes to promote local food. One of the things we haven’t got is livestock and one of the easiest ways to promote local growing is chickens.

“Lot of people nowadays want to keep chickens and produce their own eggs but they don’t have the space for it. If people are interested they can come down and join in.”

For details or to sign up, call Philip on 01608 666275.
