GOLF fever is set to hit Worcestershire in this year’s Midlands Golf Week.

The annual week-long festival will for the first time include clubs from across eight counties., including Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire.

The event will be spread across two weekends from Friday, April 12, to Sunday, April 21, to follow on from the US Masters. Activities will include free taster sessions and roadshows, coaching programmes and open days.

Clubs taking part in the county include the Vale Golf and Country Club, near Pershore, The Worcestershire, in Malvern Wells, and Ravenmeadow, in Claines, Worcester.

Sharon Heeley, regional development officer for England Golf, said: “By including two weekends in this year’s festival, Midlands Golf Week and the events being staged by the clubs will be accessible to even more people with activities to suit all ages and abilities at a time to suit them.

“Playing golf can bring impressive health and wellbeing benefits and there’s no better sport for bringing people together – whatever their age, gender, background or ability.”

Last year 122 clubs signed up to support Midlands Golf Week with 576 different activities available. For details of all activities across the eight counties, visit getintogolf.org.
