Business Secretary Vince Cable met members of Gloucestershire Local Enterprise Partnership  to discuss its progress.

The Secretary of State was keen to hear about the LEP’s work on skills, connectivity and investment and was particularly interested in its work as in retail  and Banking.

Last year the LEP was named as the national retail Pathfinder by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills , which means it is a national trailblazer for retail. The LEP’s Banking Group is made up of eight leading banks and has already won plaudits for its work with businesses from other members of central government.
