SONG birds in the Cotswolds joined together to be part of a Guinness World Record attempt.

Eighty-four children at Swell Primary School and Longborough Primary School, took part in the sign2sing event yesterday along with more than 800 schools across the country.

The children had been learning the song and signs to raise money for SignHealth, a national charity dedicated to improving healthcare and achieving equal access for deaf people.

This is the second time Swell school has taken part in the challenge after first learning to sign for their Christmas service.

Headteacher Clare Fisher said: “The whole idea of it being a Guinness World Record is a great motivator. They love the signing. It’s been really lovely.”
